CHAPTER FOUR

Tony had taken to calling him by his real name. It should have been disconcerting, but instead Seth found himself pleased.

It was funny in retrospect, the look on Tony’s face the first time he’d called him “Seth” instead of “Sunfire.” Seth had been surprised, but he’d forced himself to pretend that it wasn’t a completely amazing, life altering event. Tony had wiped the strange expression off his face and pretended like it was completely natural for him to call Seth by his civilian. It was something he did from then on.

Seth tried to pretend that he wasn’t having inner conniptions. Tony was near pathologically set in his ways. The only member of the team he’d called by her real name was Ashley, and she’d been a childhood friend turned girlfriend. Seth was just another one of his teammates.

Even knowing it was stupid to feel honored just because Tony was willing to use his name, he really was. Though he kind of wished his heart would stop leaping into his throat every time Tony called him by name. It was stupid to start getting his hopes up again; all that would happen was that his heart would be broken.

Glancing at the clock on the wall, Seth stood from the couch and tried to escape from team movie night without anyone noticing.

He knew he’d failed when Tony immediately hit pause on the remote control. “Where are you going?” It wasn’t quite a demand–the tone was friendly for one thing–but it didn’t leave a lot of room for avoidance either.

“I’ve gotta head out for a while,” Seth said. “I have a family thing.”

Tony … Read the rest “Tuesday Night – Chapter Four [Kanon, superhero, Sunfire/Teen Steel, mm]”

CHAPTER THREE

“What?” Tony asked dumbly.

Powergirl’s eyes were like gimlets. “For some reason Solar decided she wanted to switch to Teen Demis West Coast. Pulsar, of course, is going along with her. For some reason I feel like we’re losing two of our members because of something *you* did.”

“I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Tony said. He imagined he could feel a trail of sweat working its way down the side of his neck. He was definitely the focus of her evil eye and he figured at any moment Powergirl would start sucking the meat from his bones. It was a daunting prospect.

If there was something she’d definitely fly off the handle about, it was the idea of someone screwing up the team dynamic. She took her role as team leader *very* seriously.

Tony had a feeling that when the whole story came out he was going to get his ass kicked. He figured he should enjoy the anonymity as long as it lasted. He would be hating life soon enough.

“So, they’re both leaving the group?” he asked. “Won’t that leave us short handed?”

Powergirl gave a sudden, tired shrug. “The only good thing is that this is happening in the off season. We’ll be able to start recruiting some new members and get some people trained up before the season starts.” She reached forward to grab the bowl of chips Tony had left on the table. She slouched on the couch and cradled the bowl in her arms as she began to snack.

It was a rather incongruous picture she presented: young demigod in her uniform of leather skirt and chest armor. … Read the rest “Tuesday Night – Chapter Three [Kanon, superhero, Sunfire/Teen Steel, mm]”

CHAPTER TWO

Things had gotten awkward and Tony didn’t know what to do about it. He’d screwed things up and no amount of apologizing was going to make things right again.

Every time Solar looked at him, he couldn’t help cringing a little. She’d never been his favorite member of the Teen Demis, but she was one of his teammates. He’d known better than to mess around with her, and now things were coming around to bite him on the ass.

He could already tell things were about to blow up. Especially considering the poisonous looks Pulsar kept sending him.

Tony didn’t think Solar had said anything to her brother, but Pulsar had a sixth sense about her. And he wasn’t the kind of guy to let anything go. So it was kind of a given that there was going to be a giant clash of the “one night stand” and “wrathful brother” variety. There was no avoiding it. He was destined to be guy that messed things up.

Tony found himself spending a lot of time with Sunfire, hanging around and playing video games. It gave him the chance to regain his equilibrium. Ashley was still dead and there was still a gaping emptiness inside where she used to be, but he was starting to think that maybe he would be okay. His life would be able to go on.

He had to keep living through each day as it happened. There was nothing else he could do. At some point all the awkwardness would either come bubbling to a head or dissipate. He couldn’t help hoping that it would all slip away. He could live a life … Read the rest “Tuesday Night – Chapter Two [Kanon, superhero, Sunfire/Teen Steel, mm]”

CHAPTER ONE

The first time Carrie saw Teen Steel, it felt as though everything stopped moving in her chest. Her heart froze mid-beat and her breath caught in a gasp.

He was beautiful. Just this tall, gorgeous guy standing there, his black mask not hiding much of his face. His chest was so broad she thought that if she stood behind him she would disappear. Broad shoulders, narrow waist, and long muscled legs.

When she was a little girl she’d had fantasies of her “prince,” the man that would sweep her off her feet and that she would marry. He’d always been a rather indistinct figure in her mind, until now.

Teen Steel was the man she was going to marry. She didn’t have a single doubt.

Finding out that she was too late had to be the worst feeling she’d ever experienced. To come in one day and discover that the man of her dreams had already found someone else.

Every smile he gave *HER* made Carrie want to punch throats and rip out still beating hearts. Too bad she always had to be in control of herself, always had to pretend that everything was going to be okay even when she wanted to scream the world down.

Her brother Nathan kept giving her glances out of the corner of his eye like he wanted to ask her what was going on in her head. She ignored him and pretended like her world hadn’t been knocked off its axis when she wasn’t looking.

She maintained her control for as long as she could. Right up until things got to be too much. And in that moment, when chance … Read the rest “Tuesday Night – Chapter One [Kanon, mm, superhero, Sunfire/Teen Steel] (NSFW f/m scene)”

Haunted by the ghost of you,
the things you said,
and made me do;
the darkness that called out to me,
pulled me in,
set me free.
I lie here in my bed at night,
dream of you,
our Maybe Life,
regret the choices that we made,
the love you took into the grave.
